What is the latest you got a positive result?

I am 26 DPO (supposedly) and the last negative test was 21 DPO, I don't want to waste any more money on tests, but I feel more tired and nauseaous every day. I really just want to know.

Is there any point to testing again? Could it still end up positive? Arg!

(I am tandem nursing and this is my first post-partum cycle. Here is a link to My Chart)

Thanks

My goodness girl, you coverline is LOW! You haven't started any new medications or supplements recently, have you? Particularly anything that might support good thyroid function?

I would go read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". Check the library. It is the best book on charting I've found. Author has an extensive appendix that examines out of the ordinary chart results.

My best guess is that either you didn't ovulate
OR
You did ovulate and you are pregnant, or you aren't pregnant and have a corpus luteum cyst that wants to stick around.

But that's just with my basic charting background. I second the recc. for TCOYF. I read it over and over and over while we were TTC.

As far as how late the test will be positive... I'm a little dorky. : I had one test left over after I had gone to the clinic for the blood test (+), and I took it at about 6-7 weeks post ovulation. It showed a DARK DARK positive in about 3 seconds.

You could go to the dr. for a blood test, that's a lot more accurate. It depends on the tests, what time of day you're doing them and your body, so it is possible to have negative tests when you're pg. But if you go and have a blood test that will tell for sure. Any dr. would do one given your symptoms.

Thanks for all the replies. I am familliar with charting and I own TCOYF (it is a great book!). I just had my 1st cycle (earlier than I expected) so I was just charting to see if I was in fact ovulating so that I could PREVENT a pregnancy It seems I ovulated WAY sooner than I thought I would.

Nothing has changed in my cycle as far as suppliments etc. The biggest difference is that my youngest is in love with solids and neither wakes to nurse at night very often. Both of those things happened rather suddenly, so I am not entirely surprised.

After ds1 was born I didn't have a cycle until 15 months PP but I ovulated before my first cycle. My LP was short for a few cycles and my cycles were LONG (until the one when I conceived ds2 which resembles this cycle).

I am trying to avoid the doctors office as I will have a UP/UC if I am pregnant and would prefer to stay out of the "system". Less hassles that way.

Dh is going to buy another test for me today, my sudden cravings for mushroom soup and chocolate soy milk and my recent aversion to coffee have him a little worried :LOL If it is negative maybe I will go in and have my hormone levels tested, obviously something isn't right.

Thanks again for the replies. I have been really stressing about this. As a family we are not quite ready for another baby, but will be overjoyed anyway. I would just like to know for sure so we have lots of time to get used to the idea if necessary YK?

Typical!! I tested again and got a really REALLY faint positive So light that it looks like an evaporation line, but it was definitely pink, not grey like an evap line would be. Now I am even more confused. If I was pregnant it should be darker by now, if I wasn't there should be no line at all (except an evap line which I don't think it was). I guess I will either have to go to the doc or wait it out. : I HATE this uncertainty
Thanks for reading, it helps to get some sort of feedback.

I had a similar situation to yours, had no real cycle but still felt preggo. I kept taking tests and getting neg. Around 20 days past (supposed) O I got a faint, faint, we're talking faint line. Waited three days more and did first morning pee, faint again - but there. Waited three more days (this would've been 26 dpo) and still faint but darker. Well, here I am 9weeks preggo. I say you are. I think nursing does something weird to our hormones and makes pregnancy tests not work. Keep us updated.

Thanks Mamas. I feel more and more pregnant, so test or no test I think I am. I am not too confident about it lasting though. I am having weird back-pain type cramps and my breasts are really sore. I would be about 6 weeks if I am. I guess I will test again in a few days unless I start to bleed. Thanks again for all the support, I really have needed it

I have had a similar siyuation with this pregnancy. I was expecting to get my period while we were on vacation and didn't. I have only gone thru one cycle since birth of DD 16 months ago and wasn't sure about the timing but thought I ovulated at a certain oint due to the quality of my mucus. So.....I took a pregnancy test at the end of vacation. I was at about 22 days post ovulation. Nothing. I assumed my cycle is just whacky as it gets back to normal. Took another a few days after we got home. Nothing. Two full weeks later began to pee constantly and feel nauseaus. Took another test (this is over five weeks post ovulation) and had a slow and very faint positive! So wierd to me. My other pg test were much more obvious and sooner. I am still nursing DD but I was nursing DS when I got preg with DD. So, my last *false* negative was at about 25 days post conception. And barely positive at 5 weeks, but I am definitely 5 weeks along based on my symptoms which are like clockwork. Huh? I'm with you!
