I got some crappy news today.
I had lyme disease when I was in high school and into college (4 years total), so when I got pregnant I asked them to run a blood test to see if I still had it - just in case. The test came back positive, but not because I still have it, but because I got it AGAIN! Agh I am so frustrated - but mostly scared for my baby.

Anybody out there know of any other women who had lyme disease while they were pregnant? Were their babies okay?

Now I am going to go through my pregnancy with double the symptoms: I get to be twice as tired, I have to go on rough antibiotics so I will have horrible GI discomfort, I get double the joint pain ... etc etc.

I doubt I will find another pregnant lady out there who is going through the same thing, maybe I just wanted to vent. I'm so depressed about it!

IMO, they need to give you IV antibiotics. Running them through the GI tract makes ZERO sense when you realize what the bacteria really is. (((Hugs))) My mother has this too and we think it is just political why they won't pay for IV antibiotics instead of GI ones. Also, ask for them in liquid form soo that you don't have to be exposed to the plasticizers. HTH! Lyme disease is a scourge that I believe was not created by God but by man.
