i am looking for a preschool environment for my 2.5year old DS, two or three mornings a week. initially we were looking for montessori environments, but they seem to only follow the school year in this area, so i don't think that is an option for us, as i need to start right away.

i am also interested in waldorf, but i can't locate anything closer than raleigh... does anyone know differently?

there is care on ft. bragg, and not that it is a bad place, i just am looking for something a little different.

that being said, has anyone used kindercare? they are a chain, which makes me a little wary right off the bat, but you never know, so thought i'd ask.

thanks mommas!!

well i have been doing a bit of digging, and i did actually find a montessori preschool that has summer programs for students already enrolled. they were willing to take my DS tho, when i mentioned we wanted to put him in montessori in the fall...squeeze him in as they say however, they wanted me to commit to 5 days a week for a 3year old for the fall and i am unable to do that at this time. so i had to turn it down.

we are still looking for a summer program.

i will say that we used hourly care on post this morning and DS loved it. while it is basically daycare, we will keep looking like i said, but i am grateful it is there--especially when DH is deployed!

just wanted to let you all know that i did find a montessori with summer program. you can pm me if you are interested to know which one, i am not sure what the rules are for posting actual names?

oh, and does anyone have any info about kindercare? positive or negative?

thank you!!

Hi there. I didn't know if you ever found anything, but Little Pinecones is in Fayetteville. You might have some luck checking through them for Waldorf care.

*ETA* Right after I posted, I found this on Craigslist.

My daughter just started Kinder Care in Goldsboro, and I am in LOVE with them. She runs to her class on the mornings that I take her, and they are one of the few State of NC 5-Star facilities b/c they actually have a curriculum they follow. They have also been super flexible with us. We do three full days a week. Also check out this website since I am assuming you are a military family: http://www.naccrra.org/MilitaryPrograms/army/

My husband is an E-5 and is deployed, we have one child (one on the way) and I do not work. Kinder Care charges $150 a week here for 3 full days of care. The program linked above pays nearly $430 a MONTH for her to go, so I only pay around $45 a week!! But they have different options if you are not in a deployment, so definitely check out the site. They will also give you a list of places in the area that they are partnered with.
