Preseed question

Is it only used if there is little lubrication? or does it mimic fertile CM? I don't always have a problem with moisture during O time.

I think I will order some, but it is $$$ so I am still on the fence.

My zen-ness is threatening to go away
BUT I keep getting a handle on it.

(it doesn't help that I have posted on Bigeyes' psychic thread in TAO and gotten the affirmative that I will conceive again
)

Preseed is just a lube, so I don't think it can really mimic fertile CM.

I think the box says that it does...which is really nice because I hardly have any this cycle (clomid)

A lot of lubes can actually hinder sperm movment. Preseed does mimic CM, and tests have shown that it does not impeed sperm. The website has a lot of good information.

I love the stuff. Well worth the money. If you can find it locally you can save on shipping, although I found it easier to just mail order it.
I looked it up and found a local pharmacy that was supposed to carry it, but they didn't have it and I didn't want to go ask the man at the counter
I guess I'll mail order. I actually bought the 'bad' kind of lube because it is such a problem (poor bf thought it was him bc I USED to have more cm) I won't use it though around O time.

I got the liquid kind that is supposed to be like natural fluids, is it the ph that is bad for spermies, or the texture?

could you call the pharmacy and ask over the phone when they should be getting more in there??? Then it's not QUITE as embarrasing

i strongly think many women are under a flase alution that pre seed does more then it really does, when in fact it can be more harmful than nothing depending on the personal circumstances.

best thing is to figure out what your needs are with your own body and cycle, based on what is normal and or needed for a successful cycle and look at it from there.

What folks need to remember about PreSeeed though, and this is a important thing most are not clear about, is its just a "vaginal" lube.
PreSeed is just a sperm safe lube for the vaginal area, it is a replacement for the lubricating qualities of EWCM to reduce friction, if you need it.
It does not go into the cervix in any way, so it is not a replacement for the functions of ewcm in there. Without the fertile fluid in the cervix opening, sperm do not get through, most non fertile mucus acts like a plug to keep you clean.
This is why EPO and possibly some types of green tea (to increase) and Guaifenesin and water (to loosen) are used. It is kinda like 3 parts to a puzzle, neither replaces the other.
PreSeed should not be used for instance if you make plenty of arousal fluid and would not normally need lube that night. It helps only by it's lack of harm, you are still better off correcting the issue from the inside.

you are going to get a handful that said it did nothing for them, when that may or may not be the case (bottom line they sadly did not get preggo)
and you will find a group of girls that say it was just the ticket to their long awaited BFP. without having some scientific controls in the cycle, we will never know what worked for them.

good luck and may you have a bundle of joy soon.

I don't know which TTC book I read it in, but they did say you could separate an egg white, let it get to room temp, and then insert it with an applicator. I think it makes sense since the egg white is the fuel for the growing chick (sugar and proteins), it could feed the little spermies during their journey, which IIRC is what EWCM is supposed to do.
The eggwhite story is absolutely awesome! I had no idea!

I bought some Pre-seed - haven't tried it yet though - because I was under the impression that it is alkalizing which is good for the spermies... I know I have a rather acidic vaginal environment and that is not good for sperm at all... the CM makes it alkaline and therefore the sperms are happy.

I guess, I will see when my fertile days arrive, whether it was worth the money or not... But, good for sperms or not, I'm sure it won't be a total waste all the other days of the month... If it's good lube, no harm done!

I'm seriously thinking of trying the egg white idea!

Do you think it would be uhm... how do I put it... eggy-smelling???

Here's what I've found on the web:
http://www.mothernature.com/Library/...ooks/47/81.cfm
I don't think it would be eggy smelling, since it is the whites only. I think the smell comes more from the yolk. The directions I found say to leave an egg out on the counter for an hour to let it warm up, and then open and separate. I think you could probably use a baby medicine syringe to insert. I think you would have to be lying down already or you would just have egg white running down your leg. Which would be oh so romantic.

if you read the pre seed page , you will notice that egg white falls outside the good ranges for ph and stuffs, i have been looking around for info to confirm them, since i tend not to trust places that are selling me something as my only source.
http://preseed.com/TheProblem/Sperm_Damage_Graph.php

the other concern with egg-white is that the shell can harbor salmonella and other things and that comes in contact with the whites the moment you break the shell. i would not trust that in a open mucus membrane of my body. the chance however small of a infection would if the egg whites worked, happen right in the very beginning of a pregnancy, just the wrong and highest threat time for that to happen at all.
Has anyone ever heard of Pre Conceive Plus conception friendly lubricant??? I was just wondering b/c I saw it at a Rite aid and I also think you can get it at walmart. IDK if it is something good but, it claims to be. If anyone has ever heard of it, tried it, had success with it, I would love to hear about it! Thanks!

You can also purchase pasteurized egg whites in a carton. Commercially available eggs are washed and sanitized though.
