Does anyone know the best way to find individual health insurance in Texas? My health insurance is still in WA and UTD quoted $600/mo where Blue Cross/Shield's website $400/month. In WA it is much lower. Is there a better way then to go to the health insurance co.'s website? Is anyone using a different company that they want to plug?<br><br>
TIA.

when we were searching for individual health insurance, we went through ehealthinsurance.com. there's a simple questionnaire and they present all your options. if you find a company and plan that works for you, they have an online application that they forward on to the insurance company.<br><br>
it was really easy.

I really loved the high deductible HSA-type self-insurance. Let me provide some links:<br><br><a href="http://www.health--savings--accounts.com/aetna-tx-chart.htm" target="_blank">http://www.health--savings--accounts...a-tx-chart.htm</a><br><a href="http://www.health--savings--accounts.com/hsa-info.htm" target="_blank">http://www.health--savings--accounts.com/hsa-info.htm</a> (scroll down a little and it starts explaining it)<br><br>
If you want some more info, PM me for our experience, we would go that route again in a heartbeat, it worked great for us.

Do you need/want maternity coverage? My sister researched it and ended up going with the only company that she found would cover it.

Thanks for the responses. I am looking at ehealthinsurance right now and I looked at Aetna last night. I don't need maternity coverage at this time and don't plan on needing it in the near future. Health insurance is so much cheaper in WA, my personal health insurance was only $70 a month with a low deductible and 80% coverage. It also covered maternity. *sigh*
