I know there's an endless eczema thread and I didn't get through the whole thing but...

I'm another who has tried every cream lotion etc. on my 18 mo. old dd and I'm so tired of hydrocortizone and steroid creams. I'm interested in trying probiotics- but what kind? how much? and evening primrose oil or supplements. She does not BF anymore- can I give her the ep and probiotics directly? again- how much??

I'm also considering trying to get her off dairy (she drinks organic whole milk) All I ever see is low fat soy and rice milk - but I think she still needs the fat she's getting from whole milk. DO they make FATTY milk alternatives??

I made Henry a balm with EPO in it, as well as some other healing oils and butters, and it really helped his outbreaks. If I put it on every night, he actually usually remained outbreak-free. I never had to internally supplement him, but I loved what the balm did, and I'm sure the EPO had something to do with his skin getting clear. Now that he's older, we've seemed to outgrow eczema and we're now into molluscum contagiosum, which I'm CONVINCED is related to his yeast rashes, and other symptoms he's shown of immunosupression. Grrrr.....

Thank you! That helps... I actually feel better with the idea of putting it ON her skin rather than IN her tummy.

I hope you find a solution to your new problem. It's so terrible watching them itch

I KNOW, I just hate it. It's such a terrible feeling to not be able to help them in any way, so helpless.

ETA: The other oils I use are borage, wheatgerm and emu, if you happen to come across any of them. I also add avocado butter and unrefined shea, which are both awesome for healing - obviously, if you are a veggie or anti-animal products, you can skip the emu, but the other oils and butters are just great for any kind of skin problem like eczema. I hope you (and she!) find some relief soon.
