Probiotics mamas and papas - @ what temp does the good bacteria die?

My yoghurt machine overheats and I've been trying to jimmy it while waiting for my new maker to arrive. The yoghurt temp gets up to 125 F even with my attempts. The yoghurt solidifies, but I'm worried that the little critters might be dying. Any thoughts?
