We have always used BSWW but I bought four Thirsties covers recently from a local lady that has a diaper store. I had my baby with me and asked if the gussets would be problematic and she said they're great for chubby legs. Ever since we've been using them, he has deep red marks on his thighs and seems to be uncomfortable. He's pulling at the sides and between his legs. We've tried putting it on loose but it's not working. I'm bummed because it was nice to finally get some color in our rotation, but the BSWW work great, so we'll probably just go back to those. Does anyone have any tips to make these work? I hate that I spent $46 on new covers because dh wasn't thrilled that I spent the money on them but we needed a few new ones. I just wish I stuck with what we already knew worked for the same money.

I thought the gussets worked great for us, but then again my kids don't have really chunky legs.

Did you order the same size as your BSWWs? The Thirsties covers are definitely cut smaller so you may need the next size up. The only time I've had a problem with the leg opening being too small is when they were being outgrown. .. this was while the same size BSWW still fit just fine.

I did buy the same size, a medium. He's 23 pounds and the Thirsties go to 28 pounds and the BSWW go to 30.

I wish BSWW came in colors. I have a couple of the prints, but solid colors are so cute!

Thirsties are our favorite cover!
We do have to scoot them up over his lovely baby thighs tho. I usually run my finger around in a full circle to make sure it gets above the area that would cause a welt.

I think gussets make the leg opening smaller in general.

I don't think the Thirsties are great for chubbier-thighed babies/toddlers. They are really great for chicken-legged newborns, though! We size up in Thirsties (so, my 25-pound ds wears a large), and the tabs overlap at the waist, but the thighs are comfy this way. I like the Thirsties AIO.
