Mods, I hope this doesn't break the rules about customer service postings. I thought it would be OK since it wasn't about a WAHM.

For those of us who have attempted to trade on the TP, and then after mailing out our item, did not get the item we traded for...did the other mom contact you by e-mail only and request that you do the same? I'm just wondering if there are moms who just lurk on the TP and say they have things to trade and then not trade. Is it risky to do business with someone who requests "no PMs?"

I am wary of trading with anyone I dont "know". There are so many regulars here on the diaper board and on the tp that its pretty easy to trade only with mamas you are familiar with.

I also do all transactions via pm so I have a record (more just for my own keeping track) of what I have going on.

Hope you didnt get too screwed

I only got screwed out of 2 CPFs, fortunately. I traded a kissaluvs, 12 cheapo prefolds and some assorted inserts for them. It's mostly the principle that matters here.

If I have a person with just a few posts who I don't know want to do a trade I tell them I will if they are willing to allow me to mail their item once mine arrives. I've participated in some great trades this way. Its worry free for me and the other person gets the item they want...just a little slower.

I will only trade this way unless its an MDC regular.

I agree with the others--I'd only feel comfortable trading with a regular. as far as asking for "no PMs" I do that sometimes because it can be a hassle to get into MDC then to the PMs, then the inbox, then click for read receipt, then respond, wait 60 seconds to respond to another, delete them before the box gets filled up, etc etc. I just simply prefer email, which is IMO 10x quicker.

yeah, for me it's the "your PM box is full" hassle so i always ask for emails. but i don't say "no PM's" i just prefer using up my huge yahoo inbox
