This is so annoying... happening every night through the night and strong enough to not let me sleep (I doze) but not strong enough or organized enough to be labor. I'm going on 5 nights last night. :sigh: I hear it happens for weeks... how in the WORLD am I going to know it's even real labor with all of this?
So.darned.frustrating (not to mention exhausting).
I've never had this either - whine whine whine.
But anyways...

I hear you! I've been having strong contractions on and off since the end of June.... Midwife doesn't know why. They come on strong 3 minutes apart for hours, with no progress, then last night I passed a large piece of what I can only imagine was my plug! Argh.... wish someone could give me an idea of what's going on.

Birth Free, I could have written your post. I was up last night for the 4 millionth time, having strong contrax for hours until I finally doze off and wake up like nothing happened. This is starting to irritate me....it must be a 3rd baby thing -- with my first I just woke up one day in labor.

Argh. And btw, I tried with the wine -- I had a glass+ of Merlot last night and it didn't really do anything. Bah,. This sucks.

I know it's hard, but don't let yourselves get too worked up about it! I've been having some doozies these last few days, and even had 4 hours of strong contractions last night that fizzled out, but our bodies *are* working towards that goal. These warm-ups get you that much closer to holding your babes.

Remember that frustration and anxiety work against you. Try to see each contraction as a positive step to a wonderful goal, no matter if the goal is reached in hours or days.

We're so close!!

Meeshi... I know, I realized on my way to brunch today that I was getting mad at the baby b/c all of this is so tiring and discouraging and seems to have no point (I've labored 38 hour and 9 hours with my two births respectively - withOUT this kind of warm-up... what about this time requires that??) - but then I had to remember it's not the baby, it's my own body.

It's hard to keep it up night after night after night... that's all.
I'll try wine, but I have a feeling I'll just keep ctx up no matter... BHs are supposed to ease with a lot of things (activity, position change, etc.) and mine don't - they are also incredibly strong and some require real focused attention. I really just don't want this lasting more than a few more days.

And you're right Karma, IF I can actually snooze, I wake up in the morning like nothing happened all night. UGH-ola!

Trying to keep positive about it... (37w today with possibly 5w ahead of me).

I am feeling your pain. During the day, walking, scrubbing, whatever... NOTHING. I lie down to nap or sleep and I start with the ctx - they aren't regular enough, or close enough together to be a pattern per se, but they are just annoying enough to keep me awake. So, needless to say, I am a walking zombie all the time...

I just wanted to keep cheering you guys on! I had prodromal labor for over 12 hours one day/night, then it fizzled out with ctx all day, they just didn't have any consistency for a few days.

I ended up going into labor for real on Thursday evening and had my baby on Fri morning. I really think my babe was in a funky position and all that prodromal labor helped move him into the right position.

So, I'll be your cheerleader!

Hang in there mamas!
