First, let me preface with the fact that we unschool, a very relaxed approach.
So, my son Luke, whom is eight, has really been struggling with reading for the past two years. He had pretty much plateaued at about a first grade level.
Tonight, he was reading my signature line on another message board, ("Homeschooling mom to six wonderful blessings from the Lord"), and I was amazed at the progress he has made in the past week! With out any intervention on my part, he has just taken off with reading words way beyond his previous level.
***Here's the really good part***:
Well, when I asked about the word, 'homeschooling' and how he knew that big word, this was his response....
"Well, I knew 'school', and what else could come before it"!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing It warmed this MOMYS' heart!
ETA: He just read through this by himself...I had to help with only about five words, and that's it!!! Woohoo!!
