and, like me, you place the two slices of bread butter-sides together as you are assembling the sandwiches, so that you can lay the cheese slice on what will be the middle of the sandwich, and not worry about greasing up your cupboard...<br><br>
do NOT forget to place the bottom (now top) slice of bread on top of the top (now bottom) slice of bread and the cheese slice before you close the lid. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/duh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="duh">

Actually, I couldn't smell it at all! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
I went to switch out the sandwiches and noticed a lonely piece of bread on the counter... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment">

Yummmmmmmmmmmm that would've been tasty! I love burnt cheese. If I make a grilled cheese I am always hoping some cheese will creep out the side and get crispy. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Well that's easy enough to do -- just use half the bread a regular grilled cheese sandwich calls for! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

You could always grill the pieces seperately and have a grilled-cheese sandwich instead.

I never put butter on my George Foreman grilled cheeses. Seems like it defeats the purpose. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br>
I just put the whole sammiches in there for 1.5-2 minutes and they come out perfect every time.

Seriously? They work with no butter? I'm glad to hear that!<br><br>
I'm going to try it tomorrow -- I lurves me a grilled sammie but the bikini contest I'm in right now (and in no danger of winning <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">) allows no room in the diet for butter/margarine. Thanks for the tip! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">
