From what I've read it's just your body making way for the baby, the bones kinda open up a little, it's not a sign of labor, i've had it for a while now, it even started when I was only 6 months, my doctor said that it's ferfectly normal eventhough it feels like I've been horse back ridding across country

Thanks, it does feel like the bones opening up - on top of the baby kicking me very low, sometimes making my bladder leak! Just makes me wonder - this baby seems to want out soon, but I guess it's just normal for this baby. Now that I think about it, probably everything is occuring lower down since it's my second, right? (although a couple weeks ago, my ribs were getting kicked the most) I'm carrying very low this time. My first seemed so mellow by comparison, lol.

Deleria - I have that hip pain too, I get it even when I'm not pregnant. My yoga teacher told me what that is - there's a name for it, I forget - sacroliliac (sp?) area? Anyway, it's hips that are too loose & overextend - at least that's what mine is. So I try not to stretch my hips outward too much. For the pain - I discovered those disposable self-heating pads to be a godsend. You just velcro them on around your waist (largest size of course, lol) positioning it where you need the heat & it lasts 8 hours. Keeps me from being stuck in bed.

Go to a good chiropractor! You can get some relief!

I just went today and I feel much better!

My midwife suggested a woman chiro who has had 7 homebirths, 9 births total and 11 children all together (last 2 are adopted). I figured this is a woman who can understand pregnancy discomfort!!! She was great! My hips were off and she was able to adjust me and I do feel much better. She suggested I return in a week and again next month (8th month) and one last time shortly before birth to make sure I'm optimally aligned for this baby's entrance.

I am a firm believer in the value of chiropractic care for a pregnant body. Think about how much your body is changing and shifting, things are moving and pressures are settling in weird places. Go to a chiropractor! It helps SOOOOO much!!!

Kathryn, I remember one of yor posts where you called it Terrible Crotch Pain. I've taken to telling dh that I'm suffering from TCP. He is sympathetic! I'm better.

Oh, thank you! I'll definitely look into that further. I tend to get the hip issues for a year or so postpartum. It's not fun. Between a chiropractor and some heating pads I should be all set
