I tend to get sick before I even know I am pregnant and stay that way all nine months. Well, that's not true. Usually around five moths I feel good for a week and make DH take me to Hoss's where I break all the rules and have a super-rare steak. But then I get sick again.

Last pregnancy, I was sick all the time. DH actually would pack the children lunches and my then-five-year-old would get them out and put them on the table so I didn't have to look at food. I'm hoping this time will be better.

For me, the problem is two-fold. I just don't feel like eating, plus looking at food makes me sick.

So, give me your ideas on easy-on-the-pregnant-senses snacks and meals! Thanks!

this is a great idea. as i sat down to plan this week's meals, just thinking of of it all made me even more nauseous.

Tonight I did an easy dinner that has few odors, quick prep and cleanup. Tofu/paneer (an Asian cheese...not sure if they have in the USA) kebabs. I cut lg chunks of tomatoes, peppers, paneers and marinated them in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Made some brn rice, assembeld the kebabs and cooked them while the kids were in the tub. No major odors, textures, or grossness and I even ate a little bit!

In our house once I get sick they have to stop cooking for several months. DH takes them out or they cook in the garage.

I did lots of freezer meals hoping that will help. Once I get over the BIG hump around 6 months than I can't cook but they can bring food back in the house.
Usually then crockpot & frozen dinners.
Not my normal fair since I normally cook from scratch.

I had to give up a lot of my expectations with each pregnancy and just be happy my kids ate and had clean clothes on. LOL

Right now, it's whatever I can eat. We've been just doing dinners last minute because of me. Simple, bland things seem to be helping. I've been eating a lot of toast for meals, and sometimes cereals.

I'm pretty grossed out by a lot of foods right now. However last night I made this Filipino rice porridge dish which is so soothing to my stomach. It has chicken, ginger, garlic, onion, white rice (I know, it's bad--but it tastes so good right now), a little fish sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper. I love it when I am sick!
