My friend posed quite the question, and I have no idea what to tell her. I know with alcohol you don't need to pump and dump because it metabolizes in your milk the way it does in your blood. You only pump to keep up supply. I also know about avoiding foods that babies don't like. But would this metabolize (or whatever) the same way? What should I tell her?

Jonathan doesn't like Domino's pizza. It is my favorite. If I have it for dinner, how long should I pump and dump or should I just skip it all together? I realllly want it.

But anyways, I just wouldn't eat it. When I eat a food my dd doesn't do well with, it seems to give her discomfort for a long time, and who knows when you'll metabolize it into milk...

my question is how would she know when to pump and dump and for how long- the food is metabolized just like alcohol however our digestive tracks are miracle workers- they do something fast, some slow and some in the middle so its hard to say how long.

I found that something that bothered Marcus (5m) now wouldn't after he had it a few times...

Is she saying it makes him gassy? It is unlikely that D pizza is the culprit.

http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/gassybaby.html

If she is saying something else I have to wonder why she thinks that? My guess is that she is eating it in the evening and he is irritable in the evening, just like most babies. Otherwise why couldn't it be X, Y, or Z?

Not gas. She says because he reacts differently after she eats it. He doesn't do it with any other foods, no matter when she eats Domino's or other foods.

Okay, so dominos pizza has 1)wheat for crust 2)cheese 3)tomato sauce 4)whatever toppings. Oh! I like to have a Coke or whatever with my pizza - maybe she is having caffine that she normally wouldn't have?

I can't seem to find any info on anything other than elimination? So if he doesn't react to the other 3 in her diet maybe change up the toppings?

My best guess is 3-5 hours, like digestion. I will look around a little more.
