I'm breastfeeding my first newborn (4 weeks old.) I wanted to try to pump while exclusively breastfeeding to both increase my supply and to have some milk stored if needed. Any tips or suggestions on going about this? I thought about pumping after a feeding since my milk would be flowing and it would help drain my breast if the baby doesn't.

I started pumping once a day, at the same time every day, then after I started getting a significant amt I went to twice a day. I'm still at twice a day now, morning and afternoon, will probably add one more pumping per day in another week cause I want a freezer stash as we're going to TTC when he's 10mo-1yr old.

You could certainly do it after a feeding, or start pumping the other side of whatever side she's on, it'll come really fast then!
