okay, we have a wonderful puppy, a golden mix, who is completely potty trained and is 4-5 months old. she has never had an accident, but in the past few days i've noticed she is repeatedly peeing on an area rug, in the same place. i can't quite figure out when she goes and she spends alot of time outside. i'm thinking it happens when she comes in from outside. obviously i'm cleaning up after her, but i have been realizing it happens because of the scent or because i step in it. i have a toddler so following her around all day is just not an option. so what can i do about this and what can i use to get rid of that hideous odor??

block this off anyway you can..
go back the potty training

some swear by Nature's Miracle

I use white vinegar 50/50 with h2o & then spring with ribbing alcohol to dry it up.

you need to follow her around outside @ potty time & when pup does anything .... praise, praise, treats, whatever to get the idea to go outside...

maube she's spending too much time outside & feel she's need to mark inside.
do you crate train? you can crate for a pup's naptime, etc..
