A little info. Sorry so long.

My due date is not until friday (21st), but I feel it's important for you to know this was a planned pregnancy so we know the date of conception (for case of home induction).

I've had some pretty major "cramps" for over 2 weeks now. I also suffer quite badly from SPD (I've been seeing a chiropractor and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY). My cervix is still high up (we're unable to reach it, but my midwife says that it feels like it's to the right). The baby's head is also VERY, VERY low. Much lower than my daughters was when I was in labor with her. Chiropractic treatments showed that my left SI joint was seized up... we now have it moving somewhat, so I'm hoping that now the pressure of the baby can help more with cervical dilation/effacement. I've also been taking my EPO for 2 weeks now.

The problem (or part of the problem) is that I also have a high needs, active 20 month old that I find quite challenging to chase around during the day.

I am DONE with this pregnancy. So I now want to get things moving, without inducing (persay).

I took 2 tsp of castor oil last weekend because I have been horribly constipated. It was such a small amount that it did make me go to the bathroom, but didn't give me diarrhea OR put me into labor (which is what I was trying to avoid). Since my chiropractic treatments began 2 weeks ago, I've been experiencing small, soft, frequent stools on a daily basis (LOTS, about every 45 minutes, for the first 2-3 days after my first adjustment). I've also been experiencing a lot of cramping (although it feels more like pain from how low the baby is, rather than actual contractions).

So my question is regarding natural inductions, and pre-labor symptoms.

I've been doing a lot of walking (mostly pacing my backyard due to the pain), birthing ball exercises, the occasional lunge (on a chair), tailor sitting, pelvic rocking/tilts, the EPO, some minor massage on the acupressure points, baths, basically everything I can think of to help things move along naturally, without ACTUALLY inducing (I'd rather not induce because I'm unaware of the status of my cervix).

I have had no bloody show, no signs of the mucus plug, NOTHING aside from some lower abdominal pain. I lost my plug in little bits and pieces over a period of over a week with my daughter, and labor still didn't start. Is it possible that I won't lose my plug with this one until after labor starts?

Is there anything you can suggest for me to help things get going, or even just to show some sign of progression? I've even tried watching hours of funny videos (to induce laughter and relaxation) in hopes that maybe if I relaxed enough, labor will start.

I am BEYOND ready for this kid to come. It's not easy to relax at this point (but I'm trying!). C'MOOOOOON LITTLE MAN! GET OUT before mama goes Linda Blair on your butt.

I was hoping someone better with words would answer you, since the only thing I can really say is, the baby is gonna have to come out eventually! And even though you know your due date very specifically, the EDD is just that, and estimated due date...each baby will bake at their own time and come out on their own day...I know you know that, but don't focus too much on Friday specifically! This little one WILL COME!

Sounds like you're doing a lot of great things with the walking, tailored sitting, EPO, massage, chiropractor and so on.....so, otherwise, I agree when you said, relax enough and labor will start when that baby says it's time! You are preparing your body in every possible way, so hopefully the day you go into labor, things will go nice and smooth since you're doing so many great things for yourself!

I know some women have a LOT of contractions and pains in those last few weeks...so it's so hard to say WHEN...but I'm sending your little guy some COME ON OUT VIBES!!!!!

Thank you SO MUCH for your support. I need all of that, that I can get right now.

It was an AWFUL night. I had my chiro appt at 5, felt fine on the way there, felt "off" while I was there, and started cramping on my way home. Not even 10 minutes after I got home, the diarrhea started. And DID NOT STOP for 5 hours. Literally every couple minutes, for 5 hours straight, I was pooping straight water. And then I threw up.

I took gravol to help me sleep (it worked), but today I feel like absolute DEATH. I don't know if it's my body's way of cleansing before labor, or a really nasty intestinal flu, but it was really the last thing I needed in this pregnancy.

I've suffered 9 months of morning sickness (just really bad nausea) and terrible dizziness, a pneumonia and septicemia that put me in the hospital, awful, AWFUL constipation, and now this. And still no baby.

But at least there's no need to take the castor oil now!

Unfortunately, there's really nothing you can do to put you into true labor. If you trigger contrx, you might just make yourself even more miserable without moving into real labor.

Hmmmm, hopefully all of the stuff you're going through, or went through IS your body cleansing itself out! Positive thinking mama!!!!!
