Ok I'm 6weeks pp today. I stopped bleeding around 3 weeks and have spotted a bit no real bleeding after 3 weeks, On thursday it started again . Is this my peroid? I'm ebf and she gets no paci or anything. Should I be conserned? It a decent ammount of blood requiring a couple of pads a day. Help- Laura

Sorry, Laura, I just wanted to get that out! It's really VERY normal to go back and forth between bleeding and not bleeding, bleeding and not bleeding. After my last baby I bled for about 10 days like a period. Then, I went a few weeks and started again. There seemed to be a big link between activity and the amount of blood. When I took things easy around home I wouldn't bleed that much (although sometimes I did anyway). After a day of running around, I'd bleed for a few days. It really just came and went for about 7 weeks for me.

Also, some women experience a bleeding between 6-12 weeks that is just a response to hormones balancing out.

And, in rare cases women can begin menstruation again soon after birth. Did you with your other children?

I know a lot of people feel safe with ecological breastfeeding and birth control, but if you really don't want another baby right away, I'd rec'd using something. Does Vivi Pearl (love that name BTW!!!) sleep for very long stretches? If it's over 4 hours at a time or 4 hours twice in 24 hours then you're thrown out of the ecological breastfeeding category anyway.

Congrats on your new babe!

Yeah I got a peroid about 6 weeks with my son but he was using a binky. Vivi does sleep really well at night. Most likely an anverage of 6 hrs or more a night. I'm not totally against another babe but not today! I'll make sure were careful. Unless this bellding stops I won't be gettin any anyway :LOL . Thanks- Laura

Laura, it sounds like you might just be one of those 3% of women who resume ovulation before (well before!) the 6 month point even with ecological breastfeeding. I'd gladly share some of my PP/periodless time with you! What a pain!
