I worry all the time (about the baby's health, mainly). So much so, that I don't think that I am going to have another baby b/c I can't go through this again. This sense of worry was made worse yesterday by my visit to my midwife. She did a doppler and the baby's heartbeat was irregular AGAIN. This has happened one other time....the last two times it was fine. I made the mistake of telling my mother the first time and she freaked out, which made it worse for me. Then she told my father and he freaked out. Needless to say, I did not tell her this time, even though she hounded me for info about my visit (I think that she expects my midwife to know the exact second that I am going to go into labor or something).

I know that an irregular heartbeat happens occasionally but are there any other moms here that had this happen?

Not in your ddc but my babe's heartbeat is sometimes irregular especially if he or she has had their head wiggled around to check if its free or engaged

Maybe something that happened at your appointment affected the babe's temperament?

Hmmmm...I didn't know that about the head wiggling. My midwife always checks to see where the head is before the doppler, so that might explain it. Thanks for telling me! That makes me feel a lot better!
