What is the best CD to use during the first few days when there is meconium? Also is there any special or different way to clean diapers that have meconium?

I didn't have a problem getting meconium out of my dipes. I was using prefolds at the time. I was worried about it staining, though, and used some cut up microfleece liners that I made myself, not caring if they got stained. I didn't really use them (though I used them later as stay-dry liners) but was glad to have them.

I also didn't have a problem or special wash routine for those first few diapers. But you could totally cut up fleece or even old t-shirts to line your newborn diapers if you are worried about it

I think this is a huge myth. We got all that advice too. The mec. washed out without a problem.

I used those diaper liner flushable things, but they were kinda stiff - I didn't really like them. I used Kissaluvs too, which I think are the best newborn diaper.
