I'm going to have a schedule 2 ultrasound done in a couple weeks. I'll be 17 weeks at that point. I know that they say they can't tell the babys sex until you are 18 weeks, but I'm wondering if they'll be able to tell just one week early since it's a schedule 2, which is better than the regular ultrasound. Anyone know?

Ummm you can tell baby's sex at 15 weeks if baby cooperates. We knew with both my girls at 15 weeks and are praying this little one cooperates on the 5th at my u/s and we can take a peek. Mine were both regular u/s's (although they have a super great machine) at 17 weeks you should definately be able to tell if baby cooperates

You'll definitely be able to tell if baby is willing to cooperate! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I agree. We peeked at work last time at 15 wks and we could definitely see the little man's magic water pistol.

you CAN tell at 17 weeks...that said, when I had an u/s at 17 weeks with DD (cause they were worried about lack of growth) they couldn't tell...but she was a tiny thing, never above the 5th% my entire pregnancy (or so far in her entire life, she's 4 1/2 now), it was definitely easier to tell with my ds at 21 weeks. We ended up finding out with DD at around 31 or 32 weeks at her like 20th ultrasound.
