I've gotten pretty good about making sure I don't buy anything with high fructose corn syrup/artificial sweeteners, white flour, artificial colors, or hydrogenated oils, but there's some other ingredients that make me wonder.. (but that I hope are okay! hehe)

crystalline fructose? Its in my vitamin water!

Evaporated cane juice? I think thats what sweetens my ginger ale (well, unless I get premium which is honey and fruit juice sweetened
)

Annato? in annie's yellow cheddar mac n cheese it lists that as a color. I'm glad its not yellow #whatever but anything on the ingredients list thats just for color raises an eyebrow.

fructose is basically fruit sugar...better than cane, but still has impact on blood sugar.

evap cane juice i believe is not much different from white sugar, except for not being bleached.

annato is color extracted from yellow/orange veggies.

fructose and can juice are WAY better than HFCS. doin' good mama!

I'm not sure that crystalline fructose is all that great. Fructose is a naturally occurring sugar (monosaccharide) found in fuirts and honey. However, it can be made in a manner similar to high fructose corn syrup. It is obtained by the inversion of sucrose by means of the enzyme invertase and by the isomerization of corn syrup. It is more sweet and more soluble than sucrose which may explain why it's used in beverage. I'm starting to become a lot more leery of HFCS so I'm question fructose in general.

Annatto is actually obtained from the seed coating of the tree Bixa orellanna
