To create and print on clink-n-ship it requires a Java-script applet. This is something that if it isn't detected you will be routed to the site to download it real-quick for free. Also, if you are using Firefox as your browser that might be causing issues with the USPS site.

Quite honestly I have been avoiding the USPS site lately b/c they have been making changes(upgrade type of things) and things have been funky. First, a few weeks ago the Java applet was screwy. Then the labels printed out in miniature! Yeah, try and get those to be scannable by your postal worker!
I have used it once since those incidents, but I won't if I don't have too. I generall just do my shipping lables through PayPals shipping gateway.

So long post longer, it has nothing to do with your Acrobat Reader,. but the site should be directing you to SunSystems to get the Java script applet.

It used to be a Javascript applet, but it is Adobe now. However, I have the same issue since it switched to Adobe (about three weeks ago). I sent an email to ps and got a big long reply and so far haven't had a chance to really sort it all out.

But I have the latest Adobe and it's not working. It worked fine when it was Java.

OK, so it's not just me. It worked fine when it was Java, but not when it's adobe now.

bethwl, is it possible that you forward the PS reply to me? It's driving me crazy not being able to print the lables. My email address is jyanla @ hotmail.com

Thanks.

No kidding...another reason for me to avoid them!

OK, I got it figured out.
Thanks, bethwl, for forwarding the USPS reply to me.

On Acrobat 7.0, you need to click EDIT, then PREFERENCE, then INTERNET, then UNCHECK "Display PDF in browser".

Thanks for distilling that huge message into something I could read in two seconds and will probably be able to take care of now. However, since I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off these days, I didn't have the time or energy to wade through that email. Sad I had to send it out to you to get the Reader's Digest version.

Yargh! I get so frustrated with the usps site. It is SO SLOW and took me forever to figure out how to print with the MAC.

Here's how, in case anyone else needs to know:
Don't bother with Safari, use Firefox. When it asks you how you want to open the file, save it to desktop. Then, click on the little icon so that you get a cursor. The name will say something like: com.usps.cns.web.pdf.JavaLabelApplet (not sure about that end bit) at any rate, delete everything after the ".pdf". Then it will want to know if you want to rename it as a pdf file, tell it yes. Then it will open in a window on your screen, and you can go up to file and tell it to print.

Annoying, huh? I'd almost rather go stand in line at the post office! I hope they get that sorted out soon.
