Hi! I will be in Eugene for a few days at the end of September. That is about 2 weeks before my due date. My midwife isn't worried, and I'm not worried but I do want my bases covered.
Is there anything I should know if I end up going to the hospital there? Is there any other general info that would be helpful?

Thanks so much!

People tend to like McKenzie-Williamette better than Sacred Heart, so I'd ask to go there if you have to. Do you have to travel so close to your due date? I sure would hate to give up a homebirth! Best of luck to you!

My dp does have to travel and he had to w/ my last birth. He made it but kinda barely. So my choice is do it at home possiblely w/o dp and I really want him there. I guess worse case, I don't make it to the hospital in time

Well Sacred Heart is pathetic!!! If you had to settle I guess Mckenzie-Williamette is OK. Either way the nurses are not so bright. Unless it was an emergency I wouldn't go to either!! Personal experience. There are some birth centers but I don't know if you could go there probably not and there are lots of good midwives but again so close to birth. You can check out www.LaneCountyBirthNetwork.org and see if there is anyone there you could hook up with?? Have fun in Eugene.
