First of all, I'm new here so I just wanted to say hi. I'm Heather-27 years old. My ds is Connor and he's 4.5 months old. I just got my pouch today and I am having the hardest time using it! When we go out, I usually use a snuggli and carry him in the front. I want to use the pouch with the hip carry primarily at home b/c the snuggli makes it awkward to get things done around the house. Anyway, I cannot get the hip carry right. I purchased the pouch b/c I heard it was much easier than the wrap. What am I doing wrong? How can you tell if it fits right? I'm really disappointed b/c I was looking SO forward to getting it so I could have a clean house again Did anyone else have a hard time with it? Any helpful hints?

Your DS may be a bit too young for the hip carry. I wasn't able to really do it until mine was about 6 months. Right now, you amy have more luck with the kangaroo carry (legs crossed, sitting right in front of you). That said, the best way I can describe the hip carry in the pouch: I put it on. Then, I put my DS in, so that both legs are down. I scootch the material under his bum, and then put one leg in front and one behind, and tuck them into the material (I don't know if that made sense?) My pouch is adjustable, so I just know at what setting it feels right.

Keep trying it, and as your DS gets older I'm sure it will be better!
