Ok if you've gone into labor on your own- how did you feel a few days before labor began? I can't tell if I'm just far enough along to start to feel yuck b/c of being pregnant or if labor is close. I don't feel like she is big, just in place if that makes sense. I have opted for no internal exams and will stick to that, but boy I feel all weird. I've never felt this kind of weird before. I didn't know how you felt before contractions and stuff started.

#1 - I felt no different, just impatient.
#2 - I lost my mucus plug about 2 days before, and wasn't hungry for dinner that night and instead insisted on cleaning the bathroom on my hands and knees. I do recall feeling a little crampy.
#3 - No different.

Water broke before/as labor started with all 3.

With all of mine I felt crampy for about 2 weeks, and usually had a "false start" set of contractions a few days before. With all of them I had a bit of bloody show within 36 hours of going into real labor. When contractions are discreet enough that you can say "it started" and "it stopped" and they start to pick up a rhythm, you should start paying attention.

For about 3 days before labor started I could NOT get comfortable. I just felt very restless.

This time I have already felt this way for about a week.
I am 38w1d.
I am starting to feel kind of weird-- like I'm in a different state of consciousness or something. I also really really enjoy staring into space and sitting doing nothing. I don't know if this means I will go in a few days or 2 weeks though.

With mine, physically I didn't feel bad just before. In fact, I started to feel better with increased energy days before.

With my first I didn't notice much difference or change in myself. I lost my plug and things started on a Friday night and I had her Mon morn after about 36 hrs of active labor.

My 2nd was 3 weeks of false labor on and off, lots of contractions and so forth. I had lost my plug weeks before labor. That day I felt very emotionally unstable and cried and begged my DH not to leave me for work that morning. Seems very silly now, but at the time I just really wanted him at my side. I wasn't very hungry and couldn't stand the thought of anything heavy that day. I wanted/had watermelon about an hour before labor started. I did have some bloody show around 2pm. First contraction was at 4pm, called DH at 5 because they were 3 min apart and he was 45 min away, and we had a baby by 8.

The day before I had done some yard work, and DH and I went out for Blizzards afterwards. Started labor around 3 AM. Was it the Oreo Blizzard? I will never know.

I still felt pretty good up to the end, but I remember about a week prior to labor having a mental switch from "I feel great, this pregnancy can go on forever" mode to "I'm DONE whenever this baby is". I started losing bits of plug around the same time as well.

I went on my own, at 42 weeks and 3 days... I felt absolutely SURE that I would never go into labor on my own. Other than that very depressing thought, nothing. Sorry.

I lost my appetite. I ate the bare minimum the day she came and was just feeling restless and uncomfortable for the few days prior.

well, mine was kind of a weird situation because my water broke at 32wk5d and then I went into labor on my own at 33wk1d. Other than my water breaking, I didn't feel much different until labor started. Of course, I was on complete bedrest in the hospital.

I was induced AFTER my water broke at home... but I just wanted to mention that my water broke at 11pm. I had went to bed earlier than usual--around 9--and our 65lb dog and 25lb cat that usually sleep in the living room (and didn't get along) BOTH got into bed with me that night. It was bizarre.

I had painless contractions every 20 minutes for a couple of days beforehand, and just generally felt like "things are getting started here".

I never had any notice before hand. Nothing out of the ordinary. Sorry!

I felt the same as all the other prebirth days.

i had loose stools for a couple of days before zoe came, but even now i couldn't say for sure if that was a pre-labor thing or just normal, because i generally do have rather loose stools (sorry, tmi). other than that, nothing. so really, nothing unusual.
with my second though, i was very much DONE about a week before, and the night before, i had an uncontrollable urge to bake, so i did- a double batch of chocolate chip cookies i didn't even want to eat, i just needed to be domestic.

i've been very restless and feeling the same DONE feeling for a couple of days. eight more days, baby jelly, at the very least, eight more days...

for me the days before I went into labor I just wanted to CLEAN! I never clean that much. Plus I'd been having stronger BH ctrxns that i was totally in denial about.

With DD I had no idea what was coming! Even in hindsight there were no signs. My water just broke and then labor started a few hours later! So I'm interested in the responses, too!
