So tell me this... those of you who used cloth from birth with your first, did you save some/all of your newborn stash?

Did you use it/are you currently using it/going to use it on your 2nd?

I saved a lot of the newborn diapers we used on Maxi but we didnt have anything fancy. Organic cotton contours are pretty much all I saved (2 1/2 dozen), oh and a couple Bumpy night covers and SMJAE liners and doublers.

I plan on using them on #2 because contours are my FAVE for newborns but I also have a lot of one sized dipes (SOS, Wonderoos, etc.) now which I will probably use.

Just wondering if anyone actually saves and reuses stuff. I can imagine that when finding out you are preggo for the second time its hard to resist the urge to buy super tiny fluff and re-create a whole new stash.

I'm with you!

I'm due in Oct and with dd we used junk. Gerber prefolds and Gerber covers. As she grew it got better, but I don't have anything in sizes NB to Medium of any value or decent use. So I have gone a bit nuts buying from the TP to try different pocket dipes, and AIO's and little things. I only buy when it is really cheap as I can't afford much. I have also asked for donations from friends in the area or friends of friends.

Now I am in freeze mode since dh lost his job since his company bought another and decided to get rid of their own employees. Ugh, but anyhow I thought I was saving so much by cding the second baby, and then I realized I needed some decent stuff, so poof went the savings.

It is so fun to shop though.

You will still be saving though! Just think, you wont have to buy sposies AT ALL after the baby arrives!

I am now diapering baby #3, can I still answer??? :)

I did keep some things, but mainly the basics. I had a complete set of prefolds in good shape, and some newborn proraps and polar babies covers. It was a relief to have the structure of my system already, but I did buy some of the "extras". I got a new aristocrat, some other new covers, and a few fitteds, and I made all new wipes.

Of course!!!!

I wish I had saved more, but I needed to sell to support my habit. Like someone else above, I did save the basics, but it will be so much fun to get a whole new newborn stash! :-D

My oldest was in infant, then standard prefolds. She got very combative about diaper changes as a toddler so I bought a full set of MEOS and liners to make it faster to change her than prefolds were.

I sold the standard prefolds but kept the infant ones. Just had dd#2 in January and used the same infant prefolds on her. Then put her in the MEOS because they hold blowouts better. They are still holding up very well and showing no signs of wear. My 3yo has regressed a bit with stress related to baby's health problems, so sometimes she had a bad potty day and believe it or not she can still wear the MEOS on the last setting, with a Gerber pull on cover. She's 32 pounds and baby startes wearing the OS at 7 pounds.

I have been totally pleased with the size range of the OS diapers, and they have saved us a lot of money vs. buying a whole new set. I have tried and sold a few odd products but have mostly stuck to what worked the first time. Why mess with success?

I am going to be cd'ing baby #8, the 7th to be cd'ed. Funny enough, I still have pre-folds from the first baby I cd'ed. They are sort of holey after almost 17years, but still stain free.

I started getting fitteds when I was pregnant with Gunnar, baby #7. I used mostly ME Sandies and Air-flows for him, with a few WAHM diapers thrown in. I had 2 aristocrats that I still have. I saved the cutest, best WAHM diapers that I bought, and gave the rest away. And yes, it is too much fun aquiring new fluff!

I saved everything to use again and probably will again for all the babies we have. I didn't anything newborn/small so at least I had that to get . I couldn't stand to keep selling and then having to rebuy.
