Did you go into labor earlier than you did with the baby before that? My first baby baby didn't come until 41.5 weeks (which I know is perfectly fine and normal!) but I was just wondering if I would go into labor sooner if I was pg and nursing.
DD (according to 8 week u/s) was due 12/31. My water broke 12/31 and she was born 1/2.
DS (I was still nursing DD) was due 8/22 according to 8 week u/s (though I *knew* he was due 8/25). He was born 8/31. LOTS and lots of bh contractions (like regular, for hours and hours around 37 weeks) and then nothing until actual labor.
I went to 41+6 w/DD1 and was induced (c/s). W/DD2 my water broke at 39+2 but labor didn't start. Nursing DD1 gave me strong ctx, but no labor. Tried herbs, accupuncture and finally castor oil put me into labor and she was born at 40+2. So, yes, I did go into labor earlier, but under unusual circumstances.
My older nursling was 26 months and I went to 40 weeks, 6 days...no early one here!
On the flip side, I got my cycle back at 5 months, even with tandem nurslings! 5 months was when it cam back after my first baby, too. Nursing a lot didn't seem to help me out much, lol. But we enjoyed it.
My 2nd child was born at 38.5 weeks and was still nursing when I went into labor with her sister at 41 weeks. The baby was also much heavier at birth than big sister - 9 lbs 10 oz compared to 8 lbs 1 oz.
No, quite the opposite in fact. My first was born at 39 weeks on very own, no induction. I nursed my first through my second pregnancy and did not give birth until 41 weeks 1 day. I plan to continue nursing my daughter through this, my third pregnancy.
