I'm trying to figure out which fitted dipes to try, but it's hard to see what they're really like online. The only fitted I've tried is a Kissluvs 0. I know hemp is supposed to be more trim, so... I'm hoping some of you can enlighten me on approximately how thick the following dipes are in comparison to a Kissaluvs size 1:

Sugarpeas
Sam's fitteds
Liz's cloth

TIA!

I don't know if this will help much, I only have a Lizscloth in a size 2. I think they are the same thickness, though. And I think the Lizscloth is more absorbent and doesn't get all stretched out like my Kissaluvs have. I also like the side snapping instead of the front, but that's personal preference.

Liz's Cloth is definitely much trimmer and more absorbent than Kissaluvs.

Sam's fitted is also much trimmer and more absorbent than Kissaluvs.

I'm sure SP's are as well, but I've never tried them because they don't fit my long/lean toddler well.

I find that the Liz's Cloth are trimmer and more absorbant than the Kissaluvs. I also like the side snaps better - less confusing for me. I haven't tried your other brands, but you may also want to look into Little Lambs hemp fitteds.
www.cutest-cloth-diapers.com
They are also more trim and absorbant and you can get either a side or front snap. She often has them listed on ebay new for $9 - so a bit cheaper than Liz's Cloth as well.

Of the 3, I like Samuel's Fitteds the best...we have 6 of them, 3 smalls and 3 mediums. DD weighs 20 lbs and is 9 mos old and can fit in either size b/c they are stretchy.

However, Samuel's are made of unbleached terry (at least the outer). You can have hemp fleece as the inner layer though (we have microfleece instead).

I think the size of your baby is going to make a huge difference on the fit of any diapers. I haven't tried Samuels, but I do have some LC and SP (both size 2). When I chose diapers, my main consideration was buying a diaper I wouldn't have to replace (due to growth). Sam's Fitteds come in several sizes (and my daughter didn't fit into the largest one yet) so they were out. LC and SP fit the bill because my daughter fits the size 2 dipes.

If you're buying Size 1's, I don't have personal experience. My daughter fit well (no leaks) into Liz's Size 2 at 15 lbs with a whole set of snaps to spare. Liz's size 2's will fit a baby much sooner than a Sugar Peas Size 2. We wear SP's on the smallest possible snap setting. Both will fit for a very long time.

If all you're worried about is bulk, then I'm guessing a more "sized" diaper will tend to fit trimmer. There's not nearly as much fabric there for later expansion That's the drawback for going with a one-size or 2-size diaper.

Hope that helps. If you'd like to see pictures of my daughter in a LC and in a SP, PM me and I'll send you a link
