We installed our new Roundabout and I noticed one of the buckles doesn't make a "click" noise when we snap it in and I'm wondering if it could be defective. Does anyone else's click? I'm going to call them, but customer support is closed for the day.

I have the same problem with my Marathon in one of our cars rear-facing because it won't click shut with the lap and shoulder belts both in the clips. So we can't even use the carseat in that car until he's forward facing. Are you having the same problem with the belts being too thick for the clip to lock? I'm kind of mad about it since it's such an expensive seat. Those clips should be better quality than they are.

I haven't had a problem with the belts being too thick. Why will moving the seat forward facing fix the problem?

The Roundabout buckle (all Britax buckles actually) is designed to only make a click sound when the second part of the tongue is inserted. It doesn't even matter which order you put the sides in, it will only click on the second. So your seat is fine.

Unless your car is older and has non-locking seatbelts, you don't need to use the lockoffs.

Yup, when you hear that click you know both sides are in.

IMO it's better to use the built in lockoffs, that's why they're there. If you can't get both parts of the seatbelt in (lap and shoulder part) just put the lap belt through, you should have no problems then.

Oops sorry. I misunderstood the problem.
I was thinking the car's seatbelt buckle to attach the carseat to the car. Duh. Sorry. It has different clips for forward facing so that's what I was thinking when I said works better.
And lasciate, that car doesn't have locking seatbelts (it's an '89) that's why I have to use the lock-offs.
I've thought of just using the lap belt through it, but it wasn't in the directions that way so I wasn't sure if it was safe to do that.
Steve'swife, I see what you're talking about with the click sound. Mine doesn't do a click sound either with the first buckle. Glad to know it's designed that way. Sorry for the confusion.

For some reason it's not in the MA's directions (I swear it used to be), but it's in the RA's.
