We've been trying to introduce a bottle of bm, and Livi hasn't taken to it at all in the past couple of weeks. We tried just a minute ago with a different nipple and she sucked it right down! Here's my question: We offered it in between feedings and only put an ounce in the bottle. She ate the whole ounce, but wasn't fussy to eat before or after. Do I need to pump, or can I just wait until the next feeding?

I know it seems a little trivial, but I just don't want to mess anything up.

Obviously if we replaced a whole feeding I would pump then, but I wasn't sure about this.

I would just offer a breast when she gives me hungry clues, kwim?

I would not "calculate" to the minute when and how much my DD ate.

I don't think you will "mess anything up" by offering a breast earlier, either. If she is not hungry she will not eat much, if she is she will let you know

Thanks Irina! Livi got hungry and ate again about ten minutes ago, so I worried for nothing.

I don't usually worry about how often or how much she eats, I just didn't want the bottle to interfere, kwim?
