My friend is going to a concert tomorrow night and her four month old (I'm pretty sure that's correct) won't take a bottle of EBM. She's tried at least four different bottles and nipples. Any suggestions??

Is she the one trying to give him the bottle? If so, someone else should do it when she is not around. He is very unlikely to take a substitute if the "real thing" is there. Also, it might help if the person giving the bottle he has an article of clothing with her smell on it. Encourage the baby by dripping a little onto his lip.

If none of that works try this article for alternate feeding methods. Scroll down to the section titled "Alternatives to bottles for younger babies (including preemies) - Cup, dropper, syringe, and links with various methods"
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/a...e-feeding.html

Thanks a lot. I told her the same thing about having someone else feed him. I also suggested they just squirt it in his mouth but he gets so upset that he won't swallow it. He just spits or lets it dribble out his mouth. I'll send her the link. Thanks so much!!!
