I have a wineberry bush that is finally fruiting. And as the fruits ripen, of course, the birds pick them off before I can get them. I've heard of people putting netting over bushes to protect from teh birds.

What kind of netting? WHere did you get it? Did you go to a fabric store and sew something, or are there premade nets available somewhere?

We got bird netting as well for our strawberry patch. I didn't lose a single berry this year.

I picked up cheese cloth at our local harware store and put it over our blackberry bush. So far so good, then again my bush is small so I didn't need much.

Off to check out the bird netting...

I found some at Lowe's last evening. Now I'm having a hard time getting it on - the bush has some thorns and it's a pretty tall bush. I'll have to get my tall DH to try to throw it over the bush. There aren't a lot of berries left, already : but I might as well save what I can.

Thank you!
