Passing a kidney stone while 15 weeks pg.

Yep, that's what I spent yesterday afternoon "birthing"
. I'll spare you the gory details, but it was relatively awful, as per usual. I ended up tapping my stash of Percoset, which I would *never* do ordinarily. But then again, this is absolutely *NOT* ordinary pain, either, nor do you get a lovely bonus like a beautiful baby at the end to help focus you and get you through.
I'm just really hoping this is the only one I'm going to have in this pg. *crosses fingers, toes, and anything else I can reach*

You know, I never had kidney stones until 20 wks. pg with Sophie. Then, surprise!
: That was actually by far the worst attack I've had, b/c I didn't know what it was, so I was understandably terrified, AND I had no access to any pain medication at all, so I just toughed it out at home. Since that time, some magic switch has apparently flipped in my body and I've passed perhaps 8 stones in the past 3 yrs. Ugh.

Today I feel like someone ran over my urinary tract with a truck.
Sore and tired here. I'm sipping my dandelion and nettle tea like a good girl, though, and I'm certainly *VERY* motivated to stay better hydrated in general from now on!

See, now, doesn't that just make your week seem not so bad now, in comparison?

I was going to say nothing, but I had kidney stones too. I am not sure which is more painful though, they seem pretty the same. But in labor, I got a cute little baby in the end, and in the kidney stone..well...I did not. I think the labor might tip the scale though because I was in so much pain, I went in to the can't see and can't remember zone..where I felt out of control. With the stones, it was possible to give me enough drugs to get rid of the pain (I had it while pregnant but also before pregnant. I know you cannot take those meds while pregnant, but you can when not, so I have gone both ways). With the stones that I had before pregnancy, they were able to give me enough drugs, without any sort of epidural, to take the pain down. But, with labor, the last baby, no epidural but lots of things in the IV and I was still in the zone of can't see and can't think. What do you think?

Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't say I feel your exact pain, but I've passed Gall Stones while pregnant - and while in full blown labor with DS1!!!!!! There is NO WAY labor pains compare to that. No way at all!!!

I hope yo're feeling better and that is the only one this time 'round!

Hmmm - I was just thinking "I don't think I can think of anything"

I'm SO sorry - hope it's the last one you have this pregnancy! SO, percocet is okay when preggers? That's good to know since I have been known to have sporatic gallstone attacks and i'm just waiting for that to happen

Oh you poor thing!!!

It must have been really scary, even though you've passed them before, I'm sure your mind went straight to "something's wrong with the pregnancy" when the pains first started...man, how scary!

I hope this is your last for a long LONG time! (as in, like, FOREVER!)

Oh man, I feel for you. I had kidney issues my last pregnancy; kidney pain is horrid. I will say that the kidney pain was about on par with my pitocin induced labor, though. Hoping to avoid both of those this time around

Oh man I forgot about my kidney stones. Yes SUPER painful. Also I had dry socket from my wisdom teeth... not as painful as my kidney stone, but I'd say equal to labor. No pain med were given for the treatment of those either.

However, I am one of those who LOVED the pushing phase and crowning part of labor.
