Any reviews/comments for this school for an 18 month old? I want to get my son in a good montessori program and this is really close to my work.

Thanks!

I have a friend whose 2.5 year old son has gone their for nearly a year. This isn't a first-hand review, but I can pass on what she has shared with me. She is mostly satisfied with the program although her ideal is to get him into a Waldorf program. Waldorf is insanely expensive in the area, however, and she has a good rate at rainbow of less than $1,000/month.

Her complaints with Rainbow is that while they don't allow excessive sweets/candies to be sent to school as snacks, other junk foods are permitted. She also dislikes the conformity aspect of montessori and the way that they refer to activities as "jobs." She feels that they have their entire lives to work, why start "jobs" now? For the price, however, it sounds like a good option in the area.

Hey Christina! This is Sedj.

The job thing is a Montessori program thing, so I am ok with that. I hate the whole food thing, but he is getting that at his current daycare as well as a lot of video gaming from the older kids. My nephew is in a Montessori and he loves it. He likes having a "job" like his dad and goes around telling the other kids they are his managers (because he hears his dad saying that on the phone).

Waldorf would be cool, but yes, that is way, way too expensive!

I personally like how neat and clean the Montessori rooms are. You've seen my house, so you can tell that would be a thing for me

I have decided I will never be 100% happy with a daycare situation. At least I can control the food aspect somewhat. I may just say he is allergic to corn. So now HFCS and other junk foods. But then I think about the fact that I am lying and that sorta bothers me.

Ha, ha! I am such a dork and do not read signatures! That is too funny that I answered your post with information that you already knew.
