Ok better late then never? DD is 14 months and I am switching to cloth. I'm back on the disposables at the moment because after two days of cloth she got her first ever diaper rash - can't be a coincidence right?

I was using DSQ prefolds that I washed at least five times before using, as well as a couple of kissaluvs. I had been using Tide which I heard can be problematic, so I used a very tiny bit and ran the rinse cycle two extra times. I do wash all her clothes in Tide as well and have not had a problem

So in case it is the soap I bought some Alll free + clear. The diapers are in the dryer right now. If it wasn't the soap could it be the wetness? Should I try a fleece doubler? Thanks for any suggestions

I'm betting it's detergent-related - either your dc is allergic to something in the 1st detergent, or there was somehow still too much detergent in the dipes. Try the fleece liners - those will help keep your dc's bum dry, and they'll also serve as a buffer in case it is a detergent issue. And let us know if it works or not!
