We have been battling a diaper rash for about a month now. It is a big redl blotch on one side of dd's essential parts. We've tried burts bees repeatedly. then called the doc and got mystatin (name?) bc he thought it might be yeast related. Personally I think the burts bees did better than the rx stuff.

Any suggestions? Or clues as to how to find out what it is.

I thought maybe we should go to disposables for a few days to try to clear it up....but promised dh i would ask here first.

can you let her go diaperless all day when you are home? or pin a prefold on her with no cover and change it whenever it gets wet. its a bit of work, but i think it will cure it like nothing else. we have even went diaperless all night with a pad underneath. and yeah, we probably have to change the sheets the next day, but it cures the rash pretty quick.

Yeast is a beast!

You have to treat it both inside and out. probiotics help. Here's a link with more info - too funny, we were just talking about this!

You also have to treat the diapers because yeast can hang out in the diapes even after several washes.
