I'm really confused. Before we went on vacation I noticed that Brian's privates were a bit red and irritated. We used sposies on vacation and it all cleared up. We've been back a few days and he's all red and irritated and even a bit inflamed. I stripped by dipes right before we left and I change him every 2 hours except overnight. I use mostly fb's or knickernappies with joeys or some other hemp. He leaks thru anything but hemp. This week I've been using hemp fitteds and wool. I have him in a sposie now so I can slather on some cream and not ruin my cloth.

I'd appreciate any help - I just about have my stash where I want it but I don't want my sweetie to have a rash!!!

Thanks!!

Are you using fleece liners with the fitteds? I'm guessing he's a heavy wetter since you said hemp's all that will hold him. This has happened to Josh before. He's a heavy wetter so if I don't change him every 1-2 hours he gets red and a bit puffy like you described. I have found that fleece liners will buy me some extra time if we are out and about though. HTH and hope it goes away soon

My nephew gets a rash in FB's. My sis likes to keep him in CPF's because of this. It also could be that the urine is pulled away in sposies and in cd's it stays in contact with the skin.

It could be something in his diet that is causing his urine to be more acidic and then the exposure to the urine is only part of the problem. DD can NOT have apple juice or she gets a burn- literally- on her bum.

Thanks for the fleece liner tip - I use fb's when we're out but I can put the liners in the fitteds when we're home and see if that helps. LOL at solids - DS is a boobie boy - he eats very little solids and has never had juice. This started before he was interested in any solids. I'm wheat free and dairy free but if there's anything else I should look into cutting out I'm open to it.

How did you strip your diapers? Maybe try stripping in another way?

In the meantime maybe try lots of coverless time if you have enough diapers to change with every pee.

Well, you've stumped me then! I would explore what could possibly be going on in the laundry...

One other thing that I watch for (since I'm prone as are my kids) is yeast. Do you struggle or have you had any symptoms? Not just vaginally or even on the breast, but fatigue, skin problems, sugar/alcohol cravings? Just a thought.

I've had thrush since Feb - can't get rid of it but DS hasn't showed any signs in his mouth or the classic yeast rash. Maybe I'll try so lotrimin and see if it helps. Why would it flare up in cloth and not in sposies though???

What can I use for rash cream that won't stain my fleece liners or pockets? A & D is leaving icky stains
