Most raw food books/sites seem to be vegan. Does anyone have any good links for info on a more traditional foods type raw diet that includes meat and dairy? tia.

Carol Alt's book includes meat and dairy. There are a few more extreme raw diets (extreme to me ) like anopsology/instincto that would include raw meats/eggs, and maybe dairy...

The Primal Diet devised by Aajonus Vonderplanitz. He has two books: We Want to Live (you want to read the revised 2005 edition) and Recipe for Living Without Disease (his "cook" book).

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/se...=amd-google-20

I thought there used to be a web page for this book, but I can't find it now. It's a TF raw foods cookbook that looked interesting but I've never read.
http://www.westonaprice.org/bookrevi...-for-life.html

Toraji, that book looked familiar to me, and sure enough I had a link to the author's page bookmarked.

http://westonprice-ga.org/RecipesforLife/Cookbook.htm

I was interested in it, but never felt like I was justified spending $20 on something that I was ambivalent about (I've not liked most raw foods that I've tried to make).

Well, that was unexpected - I was going to ask "Carol Alt the model?", and then I thought "no, I'm not going to ask, I'll look silly" . . . so I googled it and sure enough . . . it's Carol Alt, the model.
Yeah, it's weird, isn't it? I actually have that book. It has about 120 pages of (what I consider to be) fluff, and then a short recipe section. Here are the recipes in it so people can see if they want to spring for it or not:

drinks: passion fruit drink, nut milk, peach lemonade, coconut smoothie, green drink

breakfast: cereal, oat and fruit cereal, breakfast granola, cholesterol-busting granola

soup: miso broth, gazpacho, seventh heaven soup

salad: greens salad, raw broccoli salad, "tuna" salad, lentil salad, cole slaw, caesar salad, vinaigrette, dill-dijon dressing

sandwiches: hungry man sandwich, nut butter banana sandwich, nut butter

appetizers: guacamole, hummus, salsa, olive paste

entrees: portobello strogonoff, tuna seviche, ceviche royale, tuna tartare, mushroom quiche, spaghetti al pesto, spaghetti al marinara

dessert: fruit parfait, watermelon sorbet, manna, unbaked apples, macadamia whipped cream, lemon custard, pumpkin pie, juliano's whipped cream, apple tart, creme anglaise, banana tiramisu, carob mousse
