Hey all
my son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. we have been doing RDI for 5 months - oh my gosh it's been amazing for us, the changes in us as a family, in him and in everything have been so joyful.

any other RDI parents out there in Mothering land?

We're an RDI family. We've been doing it for 2.5 years now. It's been really good for our family too! I'm glad it's going well so quickly. Who is your consultant?

We do RDI. Our lives are not the ideal RDI lives (three kids in three different schools - very busy!), but we have seen lots of improvement in DS's desire to experience share and in his use of non-verbal communication. We are still in the second parent-ed stage.

I am eager to hear what you are doing.

DS has become more connected to us, we can have a conversation (short but still) with him, he makes eye contact all the time, he checks back to us for approval and referencing all the time. He is happier, more relaxed. He has less meltdowns (we used to have 1 1/2hrs screaming every morning), less hitting.

As a family we were stressed, burnt out and without hope. We have so much hope for him now and we are relaxed and joyful.

It's been one of those life changing experiences

We are in NZ our consultant is Rochelle in Sydney (Australia).

You know the biggest thing has been my re connection with my son. I had "lost" my connection with him, through tiredness and stress and struggle, I had somehow lost sight of the beautiful little boy within. Now I have my connection with him back -
