I exclusively breastfed my daughter for about 7 months, until we went to my family's house for vacation. They were more than unsupportive about my breastfeeding her "so long" so it was hard to find places to nurse and I started giving her bottles of formula. After the 3 week visit, we were pretty much over with breastfeeding, and when I got home I just didn't really pick back up with it again, except at night for a few weeks.
She is 10 months old now, and I am feeling more and more guilty by the day! I really wanted to breastfeed her for AT LEAST a year, but probably for more like 18 months or longer. That, combined with the fact that she's been getting sick a lot lately, and I just want her to have the good stuff again SO BADLY!
I've tried putting her to the breast a few times, but she just doesn't seem to remember that that is where she used to get her food from.
I have two questions:
1. Is there any way to relactate after this much time of no milk (about 3 months now).
2. If I am able to build a milk supply up again, is there any way to get her to nurse again?
Thanks so much for your help on this! I really hope there is SOMETHING I can do!
