I read To Kill a Mockingbird when I was in high school, and recently re-read it. It's so funny how you pick up on things when you're a mom! I was reading about the court scene and how the people were all picnicing (sp?) and the babies were at their mothers' breasts and I thought, "wow! they were nursing in public!" Then in the courtroom, the author says something to the effect that "it was so silent, the babies must have been smothered into their mothers' bossoms." They were nursing in court too!

It didn't strike me at all when I read it in high school though. You never step into the same river twice, and I don't think you can read the same book twice either. =)

That is so cool and one of my favorite books, I think I want to re-read it just for that.
