Suppose someone (adult) was required to get quite the extensive physical and slew of vaxes for entrance into a nursing program.

Suppose that someone had been fully vaxed as a child, and didn't want to get more vaxes.

Suppose that person also had a form from the university saying a booster must have been received in the last 10 years, and said person hadn't had a booster since 1991.

Suppose said someone wanted to get a medical exemption, because their school was so insanely competitive and non- student friendly that they might not be able to attend the program they worked so hard to get into, and said miserable program wouldn't accept a religious exemption, even though they are legal in the state.

This person was once diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and does not want a recurrence of that misery. Said person is also diagnosed with A.D.D. and does not want to mess with their neurons because they just can't risk it? The doctor that diagnosed the CFS is no longer in practice, unfortunately.

What has to be wrong with a person to get a medical exemption? We're looking for specific conditions.

Any ideas?

Said someone and their neurons thank you for any and all help.:

You would have to convince another medical healthcare provider to agree that all of your past and chronic conditions were caused by "a vaccine reaction"; and then a medical exemption will only exempt you from one vaccine and that would only be for a limited time period. Do you know which vaccine did all of this to you?

Why don't you just go for a philosophical or religious exemption? That would exempt you from all vaccines for all time. If the school accepts public funds, I do not believe they can discriminate on the basis of your personal religious beliefs for admission and enrollment.

Are you applying to medical or dental school?

It's for a nursing program at a community college.

I was told they have the right to eject me from the program if I refuse vaxes. I didn't hear it from them, but from another member of the faculty.

MMR caused a year long bout of Chronic Fatigue. Don't want to repeat that.

Who knows where the ADD came from? My nephew has Asberger's, so perhaps we are just genetically prone to neurological conditions. Please note that my nephew and myself were both fully vaxed. My own child is unvaxed and has no neurological issues.

Ask that faculty member for a hard copy of that policy. It sounds arbritrary and vindictive to me. There are women on this board who have gone to nursing school without vaxes.

My younger sister went to dental school without vaxes, but she did get the Hep B vaccine when she went out to practice. Her choice, a calculated choice as an adult.

Personally I would do my best to get in and put the vaccine issue off as long as I could. Even if I would have to use a slew of lies to do it. I would pay my tuition, hand in and sign all papers, etc.

At the very end, when it can no longer be prevented (an not one minute earlier), I would hand in a religious exemption.

If you have everything else in place and they do not accept you then that would be considered religious discrimination.

I don't think they can risk that. jmo.

Well, just came back from my visit.

I told her I received 2 boosters 8 years ago, so didn't ned any more.

She wrote it on the forms and we're good to go!:

I do have a bubble of TB protein under my skin...blech. But that one I couldn't avoid, and it's a hell of a lot better than a couple of vaxes PLUS the TB test.

Thanks for the help, ladies...you rock!!!

You can have titers drawn to check for immunity instead of getting vaccines. (usually)

If you do this one, I would have a neutral lab do the work.
