Hi! I'm looking for a recommendation for a dental office in the Boston area (ideally in or near Lexington, Arlington, Winchester, Woburn, Burlington, or Cambridge). I may need to get some dental work done in the next year or so, and I'm not really liking my dentist these days. I'm hoping my new dentist won't use amalgum fillings. Thanks!

Rachel, thanks for the referral. I don't mind a bit of a drive if I know they're good. I'm going to check them out. Thanks again!

Hi just thought I would share info with you. I'm from the worcester county area and my children and I go to Dr Burtton and Dr Hariawalla in Newton Center off of Grant ave. They don't use amalgum filling and will not use floride if you ask them not to. Very nice people working there. My 3 year old loves to go.

Good Luck
Tim Smith in Roslindale (or it may be West Roxbury, not sure where they change over) is just THE BEST dentist, and is great with kids too. I always reccomend him and everyone loves him! Easy parking too, for if you are driving.

Thank you all very much for your responses. I thought I'd try one more time to see if anyone could suggest a dentist in the Arlington, Lexington, Burlington, Cambridge, Winchester, or Woburn area. I am totally fine with traveling to wherever's necessary to see a good dentist, but my DH would prefer one that's more convenient. I think I need to get a filling replaced, and the one I currently have is amalgum and I'm freaking out a bit about getting it removed while nursing. I want a dentist that I can trust that's not going to try and convince me that amalgum is harmless (like my current dentist is doing). Thank you all for your help!

I love my dentist, Seymour Andrus in Central Square, Cambridge. His phone # is 617-491-0943. I'm not sure about fillings though since I've never had one. I've been going to him for 10 years or so and my husband has seen him for even longer.

Hi Golden,

I don't know why I've been so lucky. I'm 33. I'm not really a tooth brushing fanatic or anything and both my parents have had a lot of cavities.

I know it's farther out there for you, but I thought I'd throw this in for everyone else
Dr Novak in North Attleboro
She is russian and she is fantastic!!! I am a huge BABY when it comes to teeth, I can barely tolerate a cleaning, and she is super nice, friendly, blah blah blah. Another great find! Her whole staff is super nice and awesoem, I have been going for years and have successfully recommended several families.

My 5yo has been twice to Dr. Renu Maewall in Wellesley. She is very gentle and calm. We really like her. In fact, we are all switching to her as she sees adults too We found her through a friend who said she is breastfeeding knowledgeable, etc. She raved about Dr. Maewall. Don't know if Wellesley is too far but...

Her info is:
Renu Maewall, DMD - General Dentist
358 Washington Street
Wellesley, MA 02481
Ph: 781-235-7399

On the no cavities deal, my husband has not a single filling. Never a cavity. Perfect teeth. Before he met me he had, at one point, not seen a dentist for 10yrs. Maybe that has something to do with it
I, on the other hand, have been to too many dentists and have the teeth to show for it
