I risk not getting any responses to this thread, but I'll chance it. Has anyone undergone a masectomy? If so, did you opt for any reconstructive surgery afterward?

I'm asking for a loved one. Most of what I'm finding on the topic is from medical trade groups, and I'd like to hear other people's experiences.

Thank you!

Some surgeons advise patients to wait until after radiation and chemotherapy are finished before having reconstruction. This means reconstruction might be done 6 to 12 months after mastectomy or lumpectomy. Reconstruction also can be done years later if desired. After such therapies, my nose started to look strangely, and it is why I started to search for who is the best plastic surgery specialist near me. Luckily I found a good clinique, and they were able to make my nose as it was looking before the chemotherapy.
