I'm 16 wks pg and am looking for a change in care providers after a really bad experience.... back story can be found here:
http://www.mothering.com/discussions....php?t=1163198

I live in NH and am looking up there too, but I'm looking in MA since birthing at my parents house in Leominster may also be a possibility for me as well. Anyone know of a midwife who could help me out?

I don't know any Mass homebirth midwives that wouldn't work with a GBS + mom. Your best bet is to check out the list on www.massmidwives.org and start calling and chatting with some about your last birth and what your are looking for this birth.

Best Wishes : )

Cindy Dunleavy is in Temple, NH. She attends births in MA as well. Some of our prenatals were under an apple tree at our house. Actually, we moved around our yard so that we could watch ds play.

I was gbs+ for ds and had the worst CNM on call during his birth that turned into a c/s. My body and our child weren't ready. ARGH!

Cindy provides real health care. She loves her work. She really cares, and she knows her stuff. We felt like a friend attended our dd's birth.

Turns out, I was *not* gbs+ for our dd. Also, there were no IV's, no fear tactics, no Friedman curve, no inconsiderate, demanding people during a vulnerable time insisting that I take some medication that just leads to more complications.

May you have a peaceful birth.

Ditto what MetroWest midwife said...I've never heard of a homebirth midwife who wouldn't accept a GBS+ client. I had a HB with a NH midwife and was GBS+ (and declined abx) and it wasn't an issue at all (though she would have administered abx if I had wanted them).

Joyce Kimball is very close to Leominster (she's in Worcester) and always receives excellent reviews from mamas.

There are lots of posts in the archives here about experiences with many of the MA (and NH) HB midwives as well.

=================
