Does anyone know where one can recycle/dispose of household batteries on the Eastside or in Seattle? Boy, from now on I will definitely buy rechargeable batteries...thanks!

Check the county pages in the phone book, there should be a number for either hazardous waste, or recycling... they should be able to tell you what to do with them. Our county recenty had a local hazardous material drive - you brought your old paint, batteries, mercury thermometors, etc to a specific location and they were all there in their hazmat outfits sorting it. :LOL
I save mine up and drop them off in the IKEA covered parking lot - There's a big battery drop-off box against the far wall of the lot...At least, I'm hoping it's still there as I've got a stash saved up for my next trip.
