So is it safe to drink right now? I am confused. Some sources say it is safe to drink from day one, others say wait til you are 19 weeks or so to avoid problems. I don't see my midwife til next week, so I haven't asked her opinion yet. What are you all doing?

I am at 6 weeks? I asked my MW last week about it, as I was having some cramps. She strongly recommended that I drink it everyday throughout the pregnancy, that it would help tone and strengthen my uterus for carrying and laboring.

It made me spot and cramp a little tiny bit, so I stopped it. The day after stopping, the spotting went down a lot and the cramping was gone, 1 week after, the spotting was completely gone and has been for over a week.

Personally, I'll not be taking it again until like 37 weeks or something, but lots of women take it their whole pregnancy.

I think if you do, the general rule is 1 cup a day the 1st trimester, 2 cups the 2nd trimester, 3 cups the 3rd.

I drink it my entire pregnancy. Some women, as the previous poster, experience some spotting and cramping, but most have no problems. It does not induce labor. I know some women are concerned about drinking it because they think it will cause labor.

I say, if you like it and aren't having problems, drink up. It's not a big deal if you don't drink it.

I drink it throughout ttc and the entire pregnancy, I did with my last one too and no problems.
But I think its best to listen to your body in regards to this one.

I've been drinking it. (I started when I was spotting- to prevent miscarriage)
