I've never had reflux or heartburn in my life, but I think it's because I don't have enough stomach acid. I pay my dues on the, ahem, other end of the plumbing .

I hope you're feeling better soon .

I feel your pain! With all of my pregnancies I've experienced horrible heartburn/reflux......it's usually how I know I'm pregnant before a missed period even! Tums are my bestfriend during pregnancy and for extreme cases it is okay to take Pepcid AC during pregnancy. With my daughter I actually had to get a prescription strength med because I couldn't even drink water without it burning! Definitely sleep in a slight upwards position.....my bestfriend swears on a glass of milk before bed but it never worked for me.

I actually had to take pepcid with ds2. I also made the mistake of confusing reflux with hunger and gained a ton of weight. Eating raw almonds helps.

The weird thing thats been working for me is a mug of 1/2 pure cranberry juice/ 1/2 water warmed up and sipped 1-2 hours before bed. And no other food after that, except maybe a couple tiny bites if I'm feeling starved.

I hope you get some relief!

Yeah me too although it is better than the nausa. If you think you do not have enough acid in you stomach to digest everything try a teaspoon of vinigar. If you want mix it with water and honey. It should help out. I personally can't stand the taste of it even with honey but my mom swears by it and so did my grandpa. He had a glass every day.

That's interesting. My homeopath/healer had me drinking some apple cider vinegar every day for a while. I'm currently on probiotics, digestive enzymes and a few other digestive remedies right now that seem to be resolving my "issues". But I will keep the vinegar in mind .

As for the taste, I have a funny little anecdote. I wash my hair with baking soda and then do a rinse with ACV. I put it in a little cup before I get in the bath with dd, and then use it after dh takes her. A few weeks ago she absolutely demanded to see the cup, and when I told her it had ACV in it she got all excited, thinking it was apple cider . She insisted on having a taste. Keep in mind, this was straight, undiluted ACV. She liked it :!!!

I'm with her! I don't think I'd sit down to a cup of it, but I do like the taste.

FWIW, I've used this for digestive issues with good results. I find straight ACV does a better job than sipping it mixed with water and sweetener, maybe because it stimulates my saliva so much.

Nah, I wish with all my heart that I was . But getting all the gunk off my hair does at least make it less limp .

I mix a Tbs of baking soda with 1/2-1 cup water and put it in my peri bottle left over from post-partum with dd (at least it's getting some use ). I squirt it over my hair, scrub my scalp with my fingers, then squeeze the long part of my hair a bit to work it through. I let this sit while I take a bath with dd. When dh takes dd I finish up my bath/shower, rinse my hair thoroughly and then dip the ends into the cup of ACV and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse and I'm all done . There are actually lots of threads about this on MDC ... probably in a subforum of the Mindful Home Management section (there is so much to MDC, I don't get to even half of it!). I kind of stumbled upon it accidentally (someone mentioned it in the Toddlers forum, and posted a link to another thread), and am not even sure I'm doing it "right", but it works for me . Before doing this I was using a mud shampoo from Terressentials that I really liked, but it was outrageously expensive, and I went through it like it was water. This is much more economical, and seems to work just as well. I know Terressentials doesn't recommend using the mud on chemically treated hair, because it strips off all the "stuff" that normal hair products lay down that helps cover the damage. I'm not sure if the BS/ACV routine does the same, but I'd already detoxed my hair with the mud before I started the BS/ACV, and I know it's not putting build up back on my hair.

Isn't it funny how a thread on reflux ended up this way?
